Bole Lemi phase 1 IP

Hawassa IP phase I

  • Ethiopia’s flagship and the first sustainable textile and apparel park in Africa
  • Location: Located approximately 275 kms south of Addis Ababa
  • Cluster: Specialized in textile and garment
  • Fully occupied by international and domestic manufacturers
  • Land Area: Total land area of (phase I & II) phase I 140 ha, and phase II 160) 300 hectare for the first and Second phase.
  • Shed rent: The shed rental rate starts with 2 USD per sqm per month for the first four years, 2.5 USD/M2/per month for next three years, 2.75 USD/M2/per month form the 8th to the 10th year and 3 USD/M2/per month for the next five years.
  • Companies: PVH, JP textile and Arvind are some of the companies in Hawassa Industrial Park.

Mekelle IP

  • Location: The park is located 5 km West of Mekelle town which is found in Northern part of Ethiopia Proximity to the port of Djibouti: 777 km
  • Cluster: Textile & Apparel
  • Total Area: Total land area of the park is 1000 hectare
  • The park has four Phases where the First phase has 75-hectare land.
  • The sheds built in the first phase are taken by manufacturers except for 2 sheds of 3000 m2 which are planned to be for domestic investors
  • Investors can take serviced land and develop their manufacturing premises
  • Shed rent: The shed rental rate starts with 2 USD per sqm per month for the first four years, 2.5 USD/M2/per month for next three years, 2.75 USD/M2/per month form the 8th to the 10th year and 3 USD/M2/per month for the next five years.
  • Companies: Strathmore Apparel manufacturing PLC, KPR Exports PLC, and SCM Garment Knit textile PLC are some of the companies in the Mekelle IP.
  • Close to the newly opened Port of Assab.

 

Jimma IP

  • Location: The Park is found south west of Ethiopia
  • Cluster: textile, apparel
  • Total area: The park has a total size of 150 hectares of which 75 hectares has been inaugurated.
  • Shed rent: The park has available sheds with the following size: The park has 4 sheds with the size of 5,500m2 and 4 sheds of 3,000m2 and two big manufacturers at Hawassa Industrial Park are considering to expand their business at the Park.
  • Zero liquid discharge will be there

 

Adama IP

  • Location: The Park is located 100 KM from the Capital Addis Ababa which is Proximity to the port of Djibouti: 678 km (proximity to the express road and the railway from Addis to Djibouti should be mentioned)
  • Cluster: Textile & Apparel and Machinery and equipment
  • Total area: The total area of land designated for the park is more than 2000 hectare and only 345.5 hectare is to develop in the first phase by both IPDC and private investors.
  • Only a limited number of sheds with 3000available
  • Shed Rent: The shed rental rate starts with 2.75 USD per sqm per month for the first four years, 3 USD/M2/per month for next three years, 3.5 USD/M2/per month form the 8th to the 10th year and 4 USD/M2/per month for the next five years.
  • Companies: Sunshine Ethiopia Wool textile, Antex Textile PLC and Kingdom Linen Ethiopia PLC are some of the companies in the Mekelle IP.
  • The park is found along the railway line which connects Addis Ababa to Djibouti Port and the express high way

 

Kombolcha IP

  • Location: 503 km from Djibouti port and 6 km away from Kombolcha dry port
  • Cluster: Textile & Apparel
  • The total Area: Total land designated for KIP in the first phase is 800 hectares.
  • Total of 7 Sheds with 5500m2 and 2 sheds with a size of 11,000m2 which are totally occupied by different international investors.
  • Shed Rent: The shed rental rate starts with 2 USD per sqm per month for the first four years, 2.5 USD/M2/per month for next three years, 2.75 USD/M2/per month form the 8th to the 10th year and 3 USD/M2/per month for the next five years.
  • Companies: Carvico Ethiopia PLC, saytex Spinning PLC, and Pungkook Ethiopia Bag Manufacturing PLC are some the Companies in Kombolcha IP

 

Upcoming Industrial parks     

Dire Dawa IP

  • Location: Located in eastern Ethiopia and 318KM away from the port of Djibouti
  • Cluster: Multiple sectors including heavy industries, Textile & Apparel, vehicles assembly and food processing, electronic, paper & allied products, chemicals (mixed sectors)
  • Total Area: Total Land designated is 4086 ha whereas the 1000ha is given to CCECC to develop a private Industrial Park
  • Five sheds with 11,000 sq., Six with 5,500 sq. and four with 3000 sq. will be availed for manufacturers in addition to a vast land area that can be transferred to investors.
  • Shed Rent: The shed rental rate starts with 2.75 USD per sqm per month for the first four years, 3 USD/M2/per month for next three years, 3.5 USD/M2/per month form the 8th to the 10th year and 4 USD/M2/per month for the next five years.
  • Dire Dawa IP is the closest to the Djibouti port, where Ethiopia is using as a major port for Import and Export.

 

Kilinto IP

  • Location: Close to the capital which is nearly 6 KM and distance to the port of Djibouti is 863 km.
  • Cluster: Pharmaceuticals

          Total Land area: 279 hectares and 165 ha are developed to be a factory floor.

  • The park will avail developed land to investors and factory sheds will be built by manufacturers.
  • Various companies from different countries showed interest and from these seven have signed MOU with EIC and five secured investment licenses.
  • The average rate is 3.59 USD per sqm per annum for forty years (lease period)

 

Bole Lemhi phase 2 IP

  • The park will avail developed land to investors and factory sheds will be built by manufacturers
  • Various companies from different countries showed interest and from these many has taken the action to set up their premises.
  • The investors took about (only know 47 ha) hectare of land so far
  • The average rate is 3.31 USD per sqm per annum for forty years (lease period)
  • Companies from the first phase which are already exporting (Jay Jay and Shints) their products have applied in the second phase too.

  • Location: 120KM from Addis Ababa
  • Cluster: It is clustered/ Specialized in manufacturing of building material, home appliances, and furniture.
  • Total Area: It covers the area of 100 hectare
  • The park will avail Shades and developed land

 

Debre-Birhan Industry Park

  • Location: It is located in the part of Ethiopia 110 km from Addis
  • Total Area: It covers the area of 1000 hectare.
  • Cluster: It is clustered for textile and Garment and Agro-processing
  • The park will avail both developed land and Sheds.

 

Bahir- Dar Industry Park

  • Location: It is located in the northern part of Ethiopia.
  • Total Area: It covers the area of 1000 hectare.
  • Cluster: It is clustered textile and apparel.

  • Location: located at Dukem
  • Cluster: clustered for mixed sectors
  • Total Area: the total land covers 400-hectare land with two phases: Phase I 223 hectare and Phase II 167 hectare
  • It is operational with more 95 enterprises.

 

Georg Shoe industry Park

  • Location: It is located at Modjo, Oromia 70 Km from the capital, Addis
  • Cluster: clustered for leather and leather products
  • Total Area: It covers 86-hectare land
  • It is operational

  • Cluster: clustered for Textile and Garment
